Achievement reaffirms Axiom Microdevices’ commitment to exceptional customer satisfaction through conformance with international quality standards IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 29, 2007 — Axiom Microdevices Inc., provider of the world’s first and only fully integrated complementary metal oxide semiconductor power amplifiers (CMOS PA) for mobile handsets, today announced it has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification. DNV Certification Inc., a division of Det Norske Veritas, with North American headquarters in Houston, Tex., completed the auditing and certification of Axiom Microdevices’ quality management systems at its Irvine, Calif. facility.“As a fully operational enterprise, endorsed by some of the world’s leading handset and semiconductor manufacturers who have selected our AX502 CMOS power amplifier for its quality and cost-competitiveness, it is critical to the success of our company that our operational processes conform with international quality standards,” said Mark Johnson, director of quality and reliability, Axiom Microdevices. “We are, therefore, very proud to announce that we now conform to a world-class quality standard in achieving the ISO 9001:2000 certification.” ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a network of national standards instituted within 157 countries worldwide. ISO 9001:2000, one of the many standards developed by ISO, is an internationally recognized standard for quality management. By achieving ISO 9001:2000 certification, organizations are recognized for their ability to fulfill customers' quality requirements. Axiom Microdevices’ patented technology, deployed in the AX502 CMOS PA, allows the use of 0.13-micrometer silicon CMOS process technology to integrate all of the functions between transmitter output and transmit/receive switch. Axiom Microdevices realizes power gain stages, small signal control circuitry and 50-ohm matching on a single die, achieving what was previously only viable with devices manufactured in proprietary gallium arsenide (GaAs) process technology and assembled in complex multichip module packaging.
