Brett Butler — Chief Executive Officer
Brett Butler is chief executive officer of Axiom Microdevices, responsible for taking the company from its venture-funded beginnings to a self-sustaining technology business. Butler brings to Axiom Microdevices more than 18 years of experience in the semiconductor market with a proven track record of successfully leading and growing businesses at publicly traded semiconductor companies. Butler joined Axiom Microdevices in 2005 after serving as the general manager of Texas Instruments' (NYSE: TXN) Residential Gateway and Embedded Systems business unit which was formed from the combination of the digital subscriber line (DSL) and wireless local-area network (WLAN) business units. Before this, Butler held a dual role as the general manager of Texas Instruments’ cable broadband business unit and president of its Israel subsidiary. Previously, he held management positions at Vitesse Semiconductor (NASDAQ: VTSS).
Bruce Warren — Chief Financial Officer
Bruce Warren is chief financial officer for Axiom Microdevices. Warren has over 25 years of experience in finance and administration roles in both public and private companies, and is a seasoned fabless semiconductor company executive. Prior to joining Axiom, Warren served as vice president, finance and administration and as chief financial officer for Ditrans Corporation. Prior to that, he served as vice president and chief financial officer of QuickStart Technologies, Inc., an information technology training and consulting services company and MicroSim Corporation, an electronic design automation software company.
Gary Cheek — Vice President of Operations
Gary Cheek is vice president of operations for Axiom Microdevices, responsible for aligning the company’s operational systems with its growth objectives. Cheek has more than 20 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing operations. Before joining Axiom Microdevices, he was responsible for driving foundry operations at Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNXT) and Analog Devices (NYSE: ADI). At Conexant, Cheek was the senior executive who led the company's move to a fabless manufacturing model and held responsibility for front-end and back-end operations. He oversaw all manufacturing, facilities, quality, supply-chain management, manufacturing business operations and procurement. At ADI, his responsibilities included engineering and manufacturing operations and spanned from business relationships to capacity rationalization and yield management. Cheek also has held executive roles and also has been an operations-management consultant, including to the U.S. Department of Energy. Cheek holds a doctorate in electrical engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.
David Kang — Vice President of Engineering
David Kang is vice president of engineering for Axiom Microdevices, overseeing the company’s design team. Kang brings more than 15 years of semiconductor industry experience in product design and development to Axiom Microdevices. He served as director of radio frequency (RF) engineering at Chrontel Inc., where he was in charge of integrated circuit (IC) development for analog and digital TV tuners/demodulators. He joined Chrontel through the acquisition of Wireless Interface Technologies Inc., a fabless semiconductor company designing CMOS transceivers for Bluetooth and Wireless LAN. He co-founded Wireless Interface Technologies Inc. and served as vice president of engineering. He also held engineering management positions at Motorola (NYSE: MOT).
Donald McClymont — Vice President of Marketing
Donald McClymont is vice president of marketing for Axiom Microdevices, responsible for architecting the company’s product roadmap. McClymont brings more than 15 years of experience in marketing and engineering for the semiconductor industry to his position. Prior to joining Axiom, McClymont served as product line director for Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: SWKS) and at Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNXT), managing the company's GSM direct conversion transceiver business. During his career, McClymont also has held marketing and engineering positions at Fujitsu Microelectronics GmbH, Thesys GmbH and Wolfson Microelectronics plc. He holds a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
Bill Sweeney — Vice President of Sales
Bill Sweeney is vice president of sales for Axiom Microdevices. With more than 20 years of experience in high-tech sales and executive management, Bill is responsible for overseeing Axiom Microdevices' global sales presence and leading all of the company's sales activities. His varied background spans executive management positions in marketing, sales, business development and product management. While serving as the executive vice president at Remec Inc. (OTCBB:REMC), Sweeney doubled the company's growth. He also has held senior leadership positions at Ensemble Communications and Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO). Sweeney is a proven sales leader and maintains key industry relationships critical to Axiom Microdevices.
Mark Johnson — Director, Quality and Reliability
Mark Johnson is director, quality and reliability for Axiom Microdevices. Johnson has more than 25 years of experience in integrated circuit (IC) manufacturing, product analysis, quality systems and IC reliability. Before joining Axiom Microdevices, Johnson led as the director of quality and reliability at Conexant Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: CNXT), responsible for the corporate product offering. During his career, Johnson also has served as the manager of reliability and analysis at Silicon Systems as well as the manager of new product introduction at Texas Instruments (NYSE: TXN).
