Brett Butler — Chief Executive Officer Brett Butler is chief executive officer of Axiom Microdevices, responsible for taking the company from its venture-funded start to a self-sustaining technology business. Butler brings to Axiom Microdevices more than 18 years of experience in the semiconductor market with a proven track record of successfully leading and growing businesses at publicly traded semiconductor companies. Butler joined Axiom Microdevices in 2005 after serving as the general manager of Texas Instruments' (NYSE: TXN) Residential Gateway and Embedded Systems business unit which was formed from the combination of the digital subscriber line (DSL) and wireless local-area network (WLAN) business units. Before this, Butler held a dual role as the general manager of Texas Instruments’ cable broadband business unit and president of its Israel subsidiary. Previously, he held management positions at Vitesse Semiconductor (NASDAQ: VTSS). Ichiro Aoki — Director Ichiro Aoki is co-founder of Axiom Microdevices. Aoki brings a broad-based knowledge of innovation-driven companies and possesses more than 10 years of experience in the development and management of technology-based businesses. Aoki co-founded and served as co-chief executive of PST Ind Eletronica da Amazonia Ltda, a consumer electronics manufacturing company that led the Brazilian car alarm market with 50 percent market share and 300 employees. At PST, he managed product development, finance and marketing efforts during different phases of the company's development. Ichiro holds a bachelor's degree from UNICAMP in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a master of science and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif. David Liddle, U.S. Venture Partners David Liddle joined U.S. Venture Partners in January 2000, after retiring as president and CEO of Interval Research Corporation, a Silicon Valley-based laboratory and incubator for new businesses focused on broadband applications and advanced technologies, which he co-founded with Paul Allen. He also is a consulting professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, and has spent his career developing technologies for interaction and communication between people and computers, spanning research, development, management and entrepreneurship. Prior to co-founding Interval, Liddle founded Metaphor Computer Systems and served as its president and CEO. He has held various R&D management positions at Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) and at its Palo Alto Research Center. Liddle holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. He received a doctorate in computer science at the University of Toledo. William Woodward, Anthem Venture Partners William Woodward is the managing director and founder of Anthem Venture Partners. His distinguished career spans more than 15 years of entrepreneurial and investment experience in technology, software and interactive media. In 1987, at the age of 26, Woodward founded Paracomp and merged it with Macromind and Authorware in 1991. The combined company went public in 1992 as MacroMedia Inc. (NASDAQ: MACR), forming the largest multimedia software company in the world and fostering a new industry. Woodward also founded Pulse Entertainment, Launch Media Inc., later acquired by Yahoo! (NASDAQ: LAUN) and Cognet Microsystems, which Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) acquired in 2001. Woodward is a member of national business honor society Beta Gamma Sigma and serves on the boards of several private companies. Ron Yara, Tallwood Venture Capital Ron Yara is a general partner of Tallwood Venture Capital. Prior to joining Tallwood, he co-founded two technology companies, S3 and Chips & Technologies. During his career, Yara has held positions with Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC), Raytheon Semiconductor (NYSE: RTN), Scientific Microsystems and Data Pathing. He holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and a master of science degree in electrical engineering from Santa Clara University. |
